Why do lawyers exchange their suits for black leather & a Harley on biker week? Because all men want to be BA’s. Yet Christian men are told becoming a BA is NOT becoming like Jesus. Really?

Jesus called the Status Quo snakes to their faces. Jesus intellectually sparred with the best & won.  Jesus did not back down in the face of all Rome’s power. Jesus was vulnerable served his friends.  Jesus overcame every temptation that even the strongest man has fallen to. Jesus’s courage and strength was outrageous.

I remember the 1st time I came across Christians who drank, smoked, chewed and hung out with people who do. They were clearly carnal, right? I started to get to know them. Yes, some of them were carnal but the others? They messed up my paradigm. They were free and I was bound. They sat in a circle over cigars pondering deep truths of the Bible, sharing unbelievable God stories in their everyday life.  I sat outside the circle judging them for smoking. Until  I became them. I’m talking about more than drinking and smoking!

There is a ruggedness that men recognize and respect that is missing in God’s men!  It is a ruggedness, that is earned on the battlefield of life.   I see Christian men trying to do all the ‘right’, ‘good appearance’ and ‘domesticated’ things that good Christian do. Yet these men are also the ones with secret lives trying to find some shred of masculinity left in them. They lack grit that other men recognize. Why are we Christian men trying kill our God given desire to be a BA?

Jesus was a BA. Straight up. He was a man’s man where it counts and calls you to live bold lives that actually matter.  Become a Jesus following BA
